Camp UU

by John Borwick last modified 2007-01-12 14:49

Camp UU is currently full for the 2006 session.

CAMP UU is a weeklong summer day camp offering our children a unique opportunity to strengthen friendships formed during our regular Sunday morning Religious Education program. CAMP UU is open for children of UUFWS Members and Friends. Camp UU will be held the week of July 31-August 4 in 2006.

Enrollment

Enrollment for our Day Camp is limited to 16 children from PreK-6th grade. The registration deadline is May 31st and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Camp fills up quickly, so fill out and turn in your Camp UU Registration as soon as possible. Once we have reached our enrollment limit for camp, additional registrations will be placed on a waiting list.

Fees

Registration fee is $110 for Day Camp, discounts of $20 for a sibling and $30 for parent volunteers are offered. Parents volunteering 3 or more days receive one free registration. Limited pre/post camp childcare is available for an additional fee, please indicate on the form if you need pre/post childcare. Jr. CIT’s will receive a $30 discount.

Lunch and Snacks

Campers are asked to bring a bag lunch each day – a refrigerator is available if necessary to store lunches. Please put your child’s name on the outside of his/her lunch bag or box. CAMP UU will provide a morning and afternoon snack.

Activities

Our theme for activities this year is The Good Life. All of our activities will include an element of personal choice and/or expression. A few of our planned activities: making treasure boxes, exploring the outdoors, designing a teepee – and back by popular demand – chocolate testing. In addition, some time for free play will be incorporated into each day so that the children have time to just have fun talking to (and playing board or card games with) their friends!

Field Trip

We moved our Camp week up this year so that we can once again take our campers to Hanging Rock State Park on the last day of camp. Although we enjoyed swimming at the great Tanglewood pool last year, many of us missed the experience of being surrounded by nature at the lake up at Hanging Rock.
