NURSERY (Infants-3 yrs)

Stay and Play

Infants and toddlers in the nursery will have a chance to play with their friends, listen to stories, play with art materials, explore the playground and have a snack, if appropriate.

PRIMARY (PreK–Kindergarten)

Spirit Play

Spirit Play is an RE model based on the Montessori teaching method. The Spirit Play classroom is set-up with different works presented in baskets on shelves. The lead teacher begins by telling a story to the class – stories are related to our promises (principles), heritage, and liturgy. Children will then choose their work, either re-telling a story with the manipulatives or working on a self-guided art project

LOWER ELEMENTARY (1st-2nd Grade)

The Integrated Curriculum

There are five core units for the year: Spirituality & Worship; Comparative World Religions (Judaism and Christianity); Unitarian Universalism; Community Service and Leadership; and Environmental Awareness and Concerns.

Middle School (6th-8th Grade)

Coming of Age

The goal of this curriculum is to teach our UU traditions to our middle schoolers, with an emphasis on fun. Stories and traditions of our UU heritage will be emphasized this year.

SENIOR YOUTH (9th-12th Grade)

So Act: The 411 on Social Action for UU Youth

The Senior High Class will have the opportunity to hear multiple guest speakers from within the congregation on various Social Action and Community Service initiatives. They will also plan and execute their own Social Action project(s) for the year.
